Japanese Brass Urn Repair and Restoration Project This red patinaed brass piece had been dropped and broken in the center, completely cracked in half between the top of the legs and the bowl. The repair required a jig be made to hold the two parts mated together in the exact position and perfectly level before using epoxy putty to form a strong bond and weld them together again. Following that process the repair was filled and sanded smooth and coated with a carefuly blended mix of three paint colors to match the origional appearance. Finally, after careful cleaning the Urn was brushed with Meltonian wax and hand buffed to a gentle shine. ![]() |
